Hi

We actually had a warm day yesterday!

As my textile jacket is already feeling warm, I wondered about a Roadskin Hoodie? I am a 42” chest in a suit, anyone any experience of how their jackets size up?

They look well thought out and designed, will suit the ride in to work and, if they live up to the ad, have some waterproofing for light showers.

Are there other alternatives to look at?

Thanks in advance
C

Bought a secondhand MA1 jacket a few years ago - think they've discontinued it now but it's basically the same thing without the hood.

It fits quite large and is VERY heavy but significantly cooler than leather or textile. I wear it almost exclusively during the warmer months. Has a proper quality feel to it which you won't find on any sub £500 leather jackets.

I bought one recently.

Easy Rider 2 I think.

Its pretty heavy, and as said, maybe comes up a little big. (M&S sizes and not motorbike racing snake sizes) Not tested it it in bad weather but it felt breezy but not cold on a warmish spring day. The hood is detachable also.

I have the Teranis Jeans also and I really, really like them.

Thanks both

Since posting at the weekend both versions are now out of stock on their website, so I’ll have a look for alternative options/ see how quickly they are available again!

Possibly depends on what and where you ride but I recently bought the RST mesh jacket Ventilator X which comes with a thermal waterproof lining

There are also cheaper versions which don't have the lining if you've got a wind / waterproof layer in something else

I must have timed it just right as I got one delivered last week. I haven’t tried it yet but it seems well designed and well made.
If we ever get a dry warm day I’ll get out of my waterproof jacket and give it a go.
They seemed. Good company to communicate with and gave good service.
I ordered a large and an extra large, there was a surprising amount of difference in the size and I could have done with a size in between ideally. Best I lay of the pies a bit as I went for the smaller size.

I saw Teapot One trying one on, on YouTube and thought the same about the company 👍

I have an Oxford products dark grey/camo armoured hoodie. It’s quite heavy but fits very well and seems well made.

How cool is the hoody if there is no airflow and its lined like a jacket ? I think I would be overheating in that at 20c.

I have a nice leather jacket thats only got a cotton lining, but its unvented and it soon becomes warm in 18C+, particularly on a faired bike. For summer I change to wearing a full mesh cordura armoured jacket (Vanson I picked up in the states a few years back)

A mesh jacket can be too cold first thing in the morning, but the Vanson comes with a lightweight liner that packs away into a pocket so keeps the wind out until it warms up.

Im pretty sure some of the European brands like Revit, Knox, Dainese all have varying styles of mesh textile jackets in their summer line up, might be worth looking at those too.

I'm quite intrigued by the new layering approach, a couple of manufacturers have released AAA rated mesh textile jackets, which are designed to either be worn on their own, or with any other jacket over the top, with no need for the other jacket to have any protective rating.

Roadskin aren't lined. They're single layer

My Jeans are single layer. I think the paranoid jean is lined.
