I thought I quite fancied one. But the price tag of Euro 80k changed my mind.

Look at it though.

Clarkson reviewed this on Top Gear in his first stint - it's on youtube (quality is not great though).

It's an Ecomobile, forebearer of the Monoracer. I remember reading about them in the late 80s. I'm glad to see they're still going but have never seen one on the roads.

Brilliant, want one! Stick an Aprilia V4 in it.

I'd absolutely love one of these. Been hankering after one since they were called Ecomobiles.

I saw two in Switzerland about 13 years ago and followed them to their stop, about 50 miles out of my way, btw!

They're excellent things, proper different

Very cool in a purely geeky way.

I guess they'd be pretty efficient the Cd must be under 0.15. With a modern engine >200mpg should be achievable.

I liked the comment, "what happens if you forget to put the stabilisers down?", "you won't forget"

That must have been filmed in the mid/late 90's. So £92k in today's money.

Wikipedia reckons you can get the retracted stabiliser wheel on the ground with a lean angle of 55 degrees.

That must be terrifying for passengers.

They are awesome Ive fancied one since they came out but the price has always been prohibitive. Look really practical with luggage space, heater etc. They used to run BMW K100 engines about 100bhp, imagine if you fit a S1000RR engine smile

I did a 3 day course at the Nurburgring a few years ago and one of these was in the bike group (there were 10 car groups and 1 bike group). The turning circle was ridiculous as we learning the circuit in stages this thing took an age to get itself back to the start of the stage. None of us were unhappy when it broke down after two stages. Our view was that it was created to provide a solution to a problem which didn't exist at a price no one would be prepared to pay.
