Hi all

I am hoping someone can point me in the correct direction

December 2022 - Brought an Aprilia Shiver from motorbikes4all and part exchanged my Herald Brat 125cc
January 2023 - DVLA send me insurance reminder for Herald Brat
January 2023 - Called motobrikes4all was advised it would be dealt with
February 2023 - DVLA send final reminder for insurance
February 2023 - Email sent to DVLA advising I do not own the vehicle with dates etc
April 2023 - DVLA reply advising I was the owner in March 2023 and I owe £100 because it is not insured
April 2023 - Call motorbikes4all and was advised they cant do anything

So what should I do?

Thanks for the help

Advise them that you had posted a notification when you sold the bike to the dealer (as is your right, no need to send it recorded either) and ask them to to check their own lost post department/withroyal mail.

Include documents showing that it was part-exchanged in December.

Request excess months of tax back from them relating Dec-???

They will back down....and you should get any un-used months of tax refunded too

did you not just fill the form in online to say you'd sold the bike or transferred it to the motor trade?
