Spraying an Air Cooled Barrel / Cylinder
Discussion
Hello,
I was intending to spray my DT barrel with Sperex or PJ1 (other brands are available…). With all those fins and nooks & crannies, is there any chance I will get a half-decent finish? Looks like it will be a challenge to get an even / complete coat of paint.
I guess many have done this before me, and it’s do-able?!
Thanks.
Mike

Interesting tip on the bbq paint! Does it put up with occasional oil/petrol spills without staining?
yes ,no problem ,it is prettyb tough .my own experience has involved b&q ,screwfix and an unknown one from lidl ,all seemed same stuff ,done a few bikes with them rd's ,dt.s and an mbx.
I used the Lidl one for a few quid a can! Did the job well on a mate's bike and 3 years later still looks good (and arguably has held up better than the original paint did).
Have also used it on my son's mountain bike and that is holding up well whilst he's still in the falling off/learning stage. Oh, and also for its intended purpose - respraying a BBQ - which also looks much better and holds up to the heat and general living outside in the weather without discolouration or peeling etc.
