Shower Proofing Kevlar Bike Jeans ?
Discussion
I'm currently reproofing all my textile gear with Nikwax Tech Wash and TX Direct
It's made me think about trying the same (or buying the cotton specific product) for my Roadskin jeans
I only use them in the summer but I've been caught out in showers before
Has anyone 'waterproofed' their jeans / are the products ok on Kevlar ?

I've used Nikwax on kevlar jeans plenty of times before - it doesn't make them 'waterproof' like it woudl on textile gear but does improve beading a lot and makes them fairly resistance to light showers.
Only caveat is that on black-black jeans (ie not stonewash/faded) it left a slight sheen to them, although equally that could have been my rather liberal approach to applying nikwax!
Edit to add: I generally use Nikwax 'Fabric and Leather' as the base after a deep clean and 'TX Direct' as a top up. Don't bother with Nikwax 'Cotton Proof', it washes off really quickly and needs reapplying after getting anything more than a light shower on it.
