Hi

Anyone been on a bike trip to Slovenia?

I'm considering it as a long weekend trip in June or July, to fly out and hire a bike for 3 or 4 days. From Google street view it looks like a lovely place with plenty of nice twisty roads, but I've also read that rainfall is relatively high even in June.

Any experiences?

Thanks

I haven’t ridden there (yet), but I backpacked in Slovenia 20 years ago, and it inspired me to get my motorcycle licence with the intention of going back there on a bike. Just hasn’t happened yet 🙁.

It’s a stunning country and probably more so on a bike.

I have a bike trip there next month riding from England with some friends. I’ll give my impressions once we return but from what we have researched it looks like a great place for motorcycles with the Austrian and Italian alps just on the boarders.

Haven’t ridden there but would like to. Drove to Ljubljana last weekend and have done a couple of weekend trips to the soca valley. If the weather is on your side you’ll have a fantastic time. Quiet country, great scenery and good food.

Yes I rode through last summer then onwards to Croatia and Montenegro. Loved it. Make sure you go via the Dolomites
Slovenia, not at all what I expected was more like Denmark in the mountains. Can recommend the one66 hotel in Ljubljana

Thanks.

Was the weather ok? Perhaps I’m reading too much into the likelihood of rain.

Thanks. Loads of viewing there - don’t think I’ll be very productive at work tomorrow!

Blue skies throughout. I was very lucky I did close to 8000miles over 9 weeks all across Europe and only had half a day of rain in the plains of Spain

I rode in Slovenia in June last year. Fantastic and no rain. Locals seemed to love bikes and were very welcoming.

Haven't ridden there, but toured in the VW California camper, and there were bikers touring at every site we stopped at. I'd have gladly swapped keys with any of them! Wonderful place, wonderful roads, people, scenery, everything. Just do it.
