Finding biker mates
Discussion
Without sounding like an utter loner, I have 2 friends that ride and we rarely go out as a group. I split my time between london and the west coast of Scotland, apart from the biker code of waving and chatting away when you meet, are there any apps or sites that get groups together?
Thanks
Thanks
I had the same issue a few years back Wilco. Someone put me onto BikerMatch, it's a dating site but with a social side too that does some rideouts and get togethers if you're prepared to travel.
I've found that Facebook things are mostly talk with not much happening, but ghee are a few exceptions.
It all depends what you are looking for.

Slight issue, I’m off all social media
Get back on then .you’re on here ? I only really use Facebook for the various groups.
Also, if you’re in London, you could consider joining the Bikeshed, they have a good social calendar.
There is a Glasgow group meets every Wednesday in Glasgow and arranges rides every fortnight or so. It was quiet over winter but getting busier now. It's mainly organised in a Facebook group though but I've found the rides to ask be pretty sensible and a good amount of fun.
I'm new to riding and didn't know any other binders beforehand.

Have a look on Meetup. You’ll probably find something suitable like this

Now the weathers improving…
This post reminds me of my situation, growing my family were really opposed to motorbikes so ended up being a car nut. Started riding in my 40’s when living in Asia, met a few mates and did some rides together.
Now back in the UK and almost all my mates have kids and none of them ride.
My brother has got really in to biking as well but lives in Australia!!
What I really want is a couple of good mates that ride, but doesn’t look like that’s going to happen soon, so would kind of like to meet a decent bunch of local guys, but I am not on social media either. To get my fix I usually just try and find a reason or good event to go to, and try and arrange to drop in at a mates somewhere near by, but it’s not quite the same thing.
Might try that bikermatch thing someone mentioned, I wouldn’t be adverse to a slim blonde is tight leathers to ride with

Doing IAM training opens up options for regular midweek and Saturday rides round here. I quite enjoyed just having someone experienced go ride with when I was training.
Always an option, have to pass before you can join them on the group rides, and getting a GS seems to almost be a rite of passage
