Travelling to the Catalunya GP
Discussion
Looking for some advice or pointers here.
I will be going to the Catalunya GP in September and managed to find a place to stay in Barcelona (Tres Torres area). I would imagine that driving to the circuit would be the most convenient option but I don’t fancy the idea of getting stuck in traffic jams.
So, I have looked into a combination of bus, train and walk but it looks like a proper trek. And the trip takes roughly 1h30 each way.
Could anybody suggest alternatives or easier ways to get to and from the track ?
Thanks in advance.

Whilst dibblecorse's reply may on the surface appear faecetious, it's also the best one. The N260 basically runs across the Pyrenees from the Bay of Biscay ports and is a truly superb road. At that time of year it's more than likely to be good weather as well. Get the boat to Bilbao or Santander and ride.
Have done Barcelona a few times,
Stayed in the centre just of the Rambles, walked to the train station in Barcelona (sadly cant remember the name) and caught the train to mont mello, its a15 to twenty minute walk to the track from there.
Loads of stalls and bars open to sell food, drinks and goodies most of the way to the track.
Never seen a traffic jam entering but leaving a different matter.

This is the best way, then get yourself near an exit towards the end, leave sharpish and jump in the 1st available taxi Stayed in the centre just of the Rambles, walked to the train station in Barcelona (sadly cant remember the name) and caught the train to mont mello, its a15 to twenty minute walk to the track from there.

We stayed along the coast at Calella and made the mistake of getting the train from there to the circuit (changing at Barcelona for Montelmo).
Getting there was fairly easy (once we got on the correct train...) but it's quite an uphill walk from the station to the circuit for someone who was recovering from a heart attack!
Getting back was a different matter; what we'd overlooked was the fact that people arriving by train were spread over many trains and about 3 hours, but after the racing, everybody wanted the same train out. The queues were horrendous.
One of our group spotted a taxi hidden down a side street scratching his balls and having a fag and, using his best Spanglish, persuaded him to take us back to Callela. 6 of us were crammed into a SEAT-thing and he kept a steady 150km/h all the way along the local dually with the unbalanced wheels rattling furiously.
We would definitely take the bikes next time
