RST Paragon heated gloves
Discussion
Bought a pair of these a year ago and was pretty unimpressed by the amount of heat.
Barely used them before Summer came and packed them away, looking as good as new.
This winter the bike got garaged when the insurance ran out and I've not been on it.
Got the gloves out and tried them indoors as it's been so cold in the flat
One hand warmer than the other so I took them back to the shop just before Christmas and they sent them back to RST.
Replaced with a new pair a month later but these just don't seem very warm at all.
I had written them off as it must be what they all do until an old mate of mine turned up at the pub a few days ago. He was on his bike.
End of the evening as we were all leaving he dropped his gloves. I went to pick them up and yelped as they were hot, so hot.
He apologized and said that he must have left them on.
But these were proper hot, what I need. I think they were called Keis.
So my second pair of RSTs are either duff or just crap. £179 though.
Anyone else here got a pair? What do you think of them?

Cheers.
Well it's either my hands or the gloves
On the highest setting I'm unsure if they are actually warm. Just a sensation.
Not sure what the lower settings are for.
Guess I'm going back to the shop again.
Stick a thermometer in there and measure them - surely there's a spec somewhere onlineWell it's either my hands or the gloves

I have the KEIS and many say they aren't warm enough the Gerbings seem the warmest IMO - I tried them at the bike show
I bought a pair this winter and used them a few times when the weather was -6. They were fine. it wasn't that my hands felt really warm you just realise after a while they aren't cold. Tested them back to back with my normal winter gloves (Richa Artics - which are very good imho) and my hands were distinctly warmer with the RSts.
It's the same sensation with heated clothing. I wear a Milwaukee M12 heated jacket or their heated gilet because I have some M12 tools and already have the batteries and charger. With no insulating layer e.g. a down jacket.I am absolutely fine at -8. Haven't ridden in anything colder - yet. Again it's not that you feel warm, you just don't feel cold. For the sake of completeness the outer jacket is a Rukka Navigator with the fairly useless insulation removed.
Hope that helps.

Interesting thread. Having passed my A licence late last year and wanting to ride straight away I looked at heated gloves and grips. I went for the cheaper option of heated grips, bought the Oxford sport ones to go on my CBR600 (I fitted them myself which was pretty easy).
I found them pretty good (in fact they can be too hot on full power), but admit to a bit of regret at not buying the RST or Keis gloves mentioned here: I try to religiously cover the brake and clutch with my index & middle fingers, and them digits do get a little chilled. I get that's probably not essential but it's also a habit from years of mountain biking.
But reading this thread, and the comments in the video by Teapot1 (where he seems to admit even the Keis are not brilliant) maybe it's just as well?
