One piece suit advice
Discussion
In the market for a one piece suit, I have two I ordered to try at home and have tried other in shops. The one with white bits is the Dainese Tosa that is £699 in the sales and the other is the Dainese Laguna Seca 5 (black/red) at £899 in the sales. Both are a size 38 UK im 5'6'' about 42 chest and 32 waist quite broad shoulders so cant get into anything smaller especially with a back protecter added.
The Seca 5 is a tighter fit especially around the legs and bum but both possibly a bit long in the legs as are a bit ripley above the knee armour, I can get the legs altered if needed though for about £150 at Hideout in Essex. When on theres nothing loose and its hard to move any of the armoured areas and my nuts are are getting pushed up my arse..
Whats you opinions guys do they look a bit tight in the back too long in the leg, both seem to have the same armour so not sure where the xtra money is going on the Seca 5 as it was a £1300 suit last year.

Worth remembering that 1 piece leathers are mainly race leathers, so are always going to be basically ill-fitting when stood up, and only need to be comfortable when sat, and moving around, on the bike
Once you're seated, the ripples above your knees should reduce as your legs won't ever be properly straight apart from those big stand up wheelies for the crowd once you've won your first WSBK race
As long as you can move your upper body around and still tuck in, then tight fitting when standing up isn't the end of the world
Have you looked at RST's airbag leathers if you're planning on using them for the track ? They're the best value airbag, and I wouldnt' race without one nowadays

Thanks, im not doing lots of track riding just some in the summer but no racing. Yeah the RST are very good value, i have a RST 2 piece already but not tried the airbag versions yet but I found with my 2 piece they really stretched a lot surprisingly and Ive dropped a bit of weight on the covid diet late last year so now not really usable anymore. Ive been wearing both suits at home this eve and to be fair they are feeling pretty good now, very snug but over the top tight. As you say when i bend over like on the bike the knees do stretch out and the bum pulls in. The black/red/white are defo very slightly looser around the arse though. Out of interest I weighed them and both exactly the same
Having just got a made to measure one piece, looking at these photos, neither of these suits fit. Your too short on the leg and too fat broad on the top.
I've no idea if youretain water bloat up like myself when you eat or drink a meal but there isn't much room for this. Then again maybe I'm the only that seems to wake up with a flattish stomach, but by the end of the day my stomach looks like one of they Ethiopian kids Lenny Henry is always standing next to. Honestly after a few pints, and a burger and chips, I look like a snake that's just digested a wilder beast in a oner.
I've no idea if you
For a 1 piece it should be tight and you shouldn’t really be able to stand up straight and walk around easily. You should be comfortable in the tuck and moving about on the bike.
My one piece is is definitely not comfortable fully zipped and stood up straight, then it is probably a bit tight these days because it has clearly shrunk….
But in the bike I’m not hampered.
I’ve found the 2 pieces much more forgiving cut wise.

I’d agree with that generally but there are looser cut suits and if you aren’t an average shape it can be difficult.I’ve got an old Belstaff one piece that is comfortable to walk around in and has no aramid or stretch panels but the armour is tight just because of the cut and me being a average 42 in all dimensions.

£899 is close to the cost of an entry-level made-to-measure suit. I’d get a M2M suit every time. Also, the Tosa is only AA rated for protection, which is shocking for a track day suit
Dainese’s website doesn’t give the Laguna Seca’s protection rating, which doesn’t inspire confidence. However, the Laguna Seca and Tosa are made from Tutu leather, which is Dainese’s cheaper (less abrasion resistant) hide.
I’d want a suit made from D-Skin 2.0 leather if I was buying Dainese clobber.
