Morning All,

I am a new rider and using the usual compare websites these 2 are the cheapest by a margin.

Whilst I know cheapest isn't usually the best, i'm looking for feedback from those who have policies with either?

Thanks

Hastings will gouge you if you need to make a mid-term adjustment.

When I bought my 1290GT Hastings were one of the few who would offer a reasonably priced policy. They were fine as I recall but I didn't have to claim. Reasonable to deal with when adding euro breakdown IIRC.

Currently with BeMoto which has been very good, price wise, helpful on the phone etc but again not had to claim. It's only when you have to claim you find out what they are really like.

Bennetts were terrible when I had to claim, dishonest, lied to me, lied to the repair shop, pretended documents had been lost. Shower of sh*t if ever there was one. White Dalton sorted them out as part of a larger claim.

Try devitt, AVOID Carole Nash and Hastings.

Just moved from Bennet's to motorcycle direct, nothing I could see to stop me .

Making a claim is another matter, but their terms and conditions were acceptable to me.

Interesting as I've just had to claim through Bennetts for a other party at fault accident and they have been pretty good about it all. The only issue I had was when it was decided the bike was a complete write off which led to some back and forth with valuation of the bike - once a value was agreed it was paid out pretty quickly. Helmet/leather and personal injury claims are still ongoing whilst I'm still under medical treatment but the chap dealing with it is intouch regularly enough.

I generally alternate between Benentts and devitt for whoever is offering the best renewal price that year. I've used Hastings before who were cheap but never had to claim with them or devitt so cannot comment too much. I avoid carole nash though as they once tried to screw me over with an auto renewal I didn't authorise on a policy that I cancelled months before after selling the bike - just really poor admin on their part!

I was with Motorcycle Direct 5 years ago when an uninsured Bambi killed off my K1300S. No issues with the claim and I was paid out what I considered to be a reasonable amount. I'd happily use them again.

I think it's only fair that you provide some justification for such a statement. I've used Carole Nash before (admittedly some time ago) and had perfectly good service.

I had terrible service from them and one check on trustpilot will tell you everything.

I really don't get these questions. They're all one and the same when it comes to customer service and the total devotion to wanting to avoid paying out if they absoltely can.

I may've been with Hastings all of the time I've been back on a motorcycle, I can't be bothered checking through my insurance folder. I've not claimed. They've been OK.

I got a quote from BeMoto for their Titanium cover in Oct. and I was happy with what they quoted considering my NCB and the bike I almost bought. If you phone BeMoto for a quote, mention you're a 44 Teether.

Had a claim through Hastings, won't be using them again, ever. Awful.

BeMoto were good apart from price - come renewal the premiums were going up and up with no reason. Now with Ducati who are a flux brand and very impressed so far. No claims with any of them so far mind!

Personally I usually just go by price including all the extras that I specify. Cost to change details could be a consideration if you are going to do that.

Is a policy at £400 going to be twice as good as a policy at £200 and is it possible to even quantify that?

You really won’t know till you have to claim.

I had a big claim with Hastings and had zero issues. There was a small delay with repairs but that was because the Ducati garage were having issues getting parts.
