Booster Plug KTM 790 Duke

I've been looking into options to smooth out the low load/low rpm rideability of my KTM 790 Duke and the BoosterPlug has come up as an option by a couple of people, I've seen some YouTube reviews and they seem fairly positive but I wanted to see if anyone on PH has got some real world experience of using one on a 790?
I understand the theory behind them but wondered whether their effectiveness depends on ambient temps and during the summer months it becomes more of a hindrance? The bike is a year round commuter for me and the only point where it lets itself down is the rideability at low speed, sitting in traffic, entering roundabouts etc it just isn't a flattering bike to ride!! Rain or street modes are the only suitable ones to use day to day as there just aren't the opportunities to get on the power and get out of the closed loop section of the map.
I've enquired about a full on remap but am unsure of costs as this is likely the most comprehensive way to go.

I've had the booster plug fitted for over six months and I'm really not sure it makes that much difference. On my previous bike(MT-10), I took it for a proper remap and I could feel the difference the minute I rode it home. It was worth every penny having it remapped.
I think if you want it fixed properly then it would need to be remapped, but that comes with costs and it all depends on how long you plan to keep the bike.

there’s loads of stuff that comes out with huge flat spots and snatchy maps etc. some of the jap stuff is no better than stuff like KTM. Even worse is the stuff with crap suspension and that is usually jap stuff.Dirknights said:

£650 - bloody hell. Is there not a DIY option? For example on Triumphs (admittedly not the latest, which have encrypted ECUs) you can upload maps via a tool called TuneECU. When I had a freer-flowing SC Project exhaust on mine, I uploaded the factory tune intended for their optional Arrow factory exhaust. Several years later, when I put the standard exhaust back on, I uploaded the original OEM map. Takes 15 minutes and almost no cost (£20 ODB-II to USB adapter (which is TuneECU specific, from Lonelec).I'll have a look at taking the slack out of the RBW and maybe just getting on with it!
I've got used to be able to manage the electronics on my bike. Open the ABS valves for bleeding, check throttle body balance, reset service indicator, read/reset all fault codes, change TPMS sensors, replace/modify fuel maps - all for free, using my own laptop. It would sting, badly, to have to start paying for that stuff again.
Junction 33 developments do a remap for about 200 quid, postal service send them your ECU they map it and send it back to you, will even send you a video on how to take it out and re fit or talk you through it over the phone, takes about a week, loads of the 790 owners I know have had it done, and everyone raves about it
