Hope it pans out for him, he's had some ups and downs last season and seems like a very nice guy, he (and the rest of the UK paddock) were excellent and genuine at Silverstone last season. Spent absolutely ages with the crowd, signing stuff and doing photos etc. Same for Moto2.

His Malaysia race was ballsy too!

Best of luck beer

Actually wasn't he limited by age rather than results for Moto3?

No sorry I mean isn't there an age limit for the riders in the series?

Yes and he's reached it, hence his move to SSP for this season.

Ah good, glad it wasn't a slightly (but not terrible at all!) lacklustre pattern of results meaning he had to leave the series.

Onwards and upwards!

I guess the fact that he keeps getting paid to ride in Moto 3 has kept him there?

He’s better than though….. good luck to him.

I always watch Moto 3 for him

I've enjoyed watching his GP3 exploits and I wish him well on a Supersport.

I don't follow SSP, but that looks like a decent ride, fingers crossed for decent results.

SSP for a year then up to SBK.

Sykes keeping the seat warm and getting the bike back towards the front…

He stayed in Moto3 for so long, was supposed to be going up to Moto2 with Petronas but the arse fell out of that deal when they pulled the plug to spend ever more on the bore that is F1.

He stayed there because he was capable of winning races and he was British, plus he had years of experience, always useful.

I doubt he will progress into SBK, that long on a 250 means adaptation is very tough, but Dorna always look after GP riders in the SBK retirement home so maybe I am wrong.

I think Mr Biaggi was looking it for him. Max regarded him very highly on the Moto3 bike.
