Fixing waterproof seams
Discussion
My Oxford stormex cover has started to leak. It’s only around 15 months old & is in great condition bar the seam tape coming away in a couple of places leaving wet patches on my beloved bike! I’m assuming it’s caused by the heat of summer melting the tape.
What’s the best way to fix this? A quick scan on Amazon has opened my eyes to the world of seam repair. I’ve not found anything for bike covers though & not sure if some of the iron on tapes look strong enough for the job.
Has anyone here had the same issue & what did you use to fix it? I usually just attack these things with a roll of duct tape but I’m sure there’s a better solution.
Thanks in advance.

I use Aquasure wetsuit adhesive for a lot of flexible, waterproof jobs, be it a wetsuit, wellies or a tent seam.
You can get a cure accelerator which is also thinners and can make application much easier - especially for seams and fabrics. It's slow curing, so will run if not level. Again the accelerator heops here. Repairs are very strong as long as the surface is clean.
Can be found in water sports shops / eBay / Amazon easily enough.

I haven't tried it but my go to solution is polyurethane
It's like silicone on steroids, have a google first
