Where do you keep your motorcycle overnight? What security do you use/are you scared of it being nicked?

I've got a garage thats attached to my block (garages, first floor, second floor (us)). So not a real issue. I had bikes when living at home and just left them on the drive. Started with a disc lock but when I rode off with that attached I just left it without.

I live(d) in an OK area though. If I was somewhere busier properly be a bit more worried. But its what insurance is there for in a way.

When I didn't own a garage, I owned tatty old bikes for a while.
Then I rented a half share in a lock-up.

One of my mates used to store his bike at work, which was in walking distance of his flat and had 24/7 access/security.

I've known people store their weekend bikes miles from where they live.
At parents' house for example.

I have seen the odd motorbike in nth floor flats.
Bikes are bigger and heavier now mostly?

There is often odd storage to rent if you look hard enough.
'service areas in flats.
Businesses which will rent a bit of yard or shed for a few quid.

I know where there's at least one motorbike stored in a beach hut right now.

Mostly though, a rat bike and a couple of big chains is the reality, if you want it convenient for your front door.

When I was a student in a sthole area of Nottingham I had a DT175 I chained it to the lamp post outside my terraced house

Several times I came to ride to Uni in the morning and some tt had stolen the petrol

It occurred to me to mix some sugar in but it was too infrequent to bother

When I lived in a flat, I had my bike (a CBR600F) chained to a ground anchor in my allocated parking space, with a cover over the top. I never had any problems although my bike was hidden from view from the road.

Thanks
