Bahnstormer Maidenhead had an event on Saturday in support of charity, which I attended for the sake of the bacon sandwiches. They had Josh Brookes as a guest, who apparently is some kind of racer (though I'd never heard of him).
Very pleasant and unassuming, talking to everyone biker to biker rather than holding court. It took me a while to realise he was the VIP star of the event. He gave me some tips about controlling rear end slides which went totally over my head but I think I managed to nod and agree in the right places.

Danny Buchan was at the Alton branch of Bahnstormer. Had a brief chat. Just as nice in person as I expected he would be.
Still negotiating for his ride next year. What surprised me was that being on the absolute best bike was not necessarily the goal. The financial package is also a big factor.

Money will always have a big bearing, think he sells double glazing or the like as a day job.Still negotiating for his ride next year. What surprised me was that being on the absolute best bike was not necessarily the goal. The financial package is also a big factor.
Unfortunately as we've seen this year, it's a risky job that's not paid well financially.

He sells office furniture I believe.
Must be a tough gig these days. Most of the offices I go into these days are practically devoid of staff and the business owners are looking to get rid of their offices rather than buy new office furniture.Zarco said:
