Evening all,

I wondered if any kind soul could advise on a decent breakers or similar that would be able to supply a bike engine and wiring loom. I have had a look on eBay but quite a bit more than I was expecting tbh!

Something along the lines of a ZX6R or similar would be ideal.

Reasons for requiring one is below

Thanks all

There was a lad called Malc (Yorkshire Engine Supplies) up in Leyburn. Not sure if he's still about but he's supplied a fair number for Bike Engined Cars. Also supplied for sidecars and other stuff.
Might get his details on locostbuilders.co.uk if he's still running.

The cheapest option is likely to buy a complete non running or damaged bike and then sell the rest on

Depends what you call ‘a bit more than expected’ really.

A complete bike might be better to get the wiring loom etc and they are going on eBay for about 500 quid.

At least with a complete bike you should be able to run it and make sure the engine is sound.

I’d be looking at buying a complete bike. The valuable bits of a bike are all the bits that are easily broken, so you should make decent money selling everything you don’t need.

The other, much bigger, advantage is you can hear it running and test ride the engine before you buy.

Lots of engines on eBay are from stolen bikes, (apparently) smile be careful.
