I had an email from BeMoto offering me 4 years return to invoice cover on my recently acquired BMW 1250GS, the premium is £276, which doesn’t seem too bad, although a bit more pro-rata than the Ala policy I have running on my Porsche 911.

I wonder if anyone has any experiences or thoughts to share on the matter?

Just check if there is a maximum value on the policy…they sometimes are back to invoice or a maximum payment ie £10,000 etc

The cover level is selected according to the purchase price of the bike, in my case £20,000.

276 sounds like a drop in the ocean to protect your investment. If you’re not happy with the price I expect you could shave a couple quid off by taking it out with someone else.

Yep, I see it as topping up fully comp policy to what it should be & £69 a year doesn’t seem too bad.

I had a hard hearted internet search for a comparison price but failed.

As ever with insurance the devil is in the detail. Worth having a thorough read of the T&C’s to see what exclusions apply.

Actually I meant a half hearted search, but auto correct was probably more accurate as it appertains to insurance.

Like all insurances, depends on your attitude to the risk of the loss.

I have my car and one of my bikes on a PCP deal, the car is worth quite a bit more than the bike, so I have taken out GAP insurance on that but not on the bike..
