Eagleriders coast to coast 2022
Discussion
Well what an experience.
I booked this in Aug 2019 then we know what kicked off the next year. Trip was for about 17 days but we stayed a few days extra at the start and end.
Started off in LA and ended in Daytona, then to Orlando to drop the bikes off.
Anyone who has done any Eagleriders trips, this is different to the rest. It's all about the road. while there is loads to take in you don't have much time to sightsee as there is a long trip to enjoy, and enjoy I did.
LA is interesting, busy and had a few days in a Dodge challenger to enjoy the sights, Popped into the NHRA museum, Santa Monica pier, Griffith observatory.
Our trip changed and on the map below as we visited San Antonio from Del rio and onto Port Arthur then going into New Orleans.
Bike I chose to ride was the HD Road glide and was perfect, comfy AF, no issues with riding all day and doing the same the next day. Music was enjoyed at over 80MPH .
Daily milage was between 200 and 350. With the average being 300 miles approx. 90% of the riding was 1 or 2 lanes and not many miles on interstates or freeways. Just going into and out of city’s.
I could write pages about the trip but Highlights included The Three twisted sisters roads in Texas, meeting some lovely people who became good friends. Driving by the Trinity site, first Atomic bomb testing and I yet to grow a spare head. And Cruising the coast (Mississippi care cruise) which took us 2 hours to drive past. It was massive and some amazing vehicles involved. New Orleans was an eye opener, visited Jackson square, the American WW2 museum and the famous if a little seedy Bourbon street.
Low’s of the trip - Not many but El Paso, we had been warned about walking about because of cartels, also Del Rio due to the huge amount of immigrants walking over the border. But talking to locals this is just warnings to tourists about being a little more careful.
Amazing trip.
Would I do it again. No
Why, its about the road and trip, now I’ve ridden 3660 miles across the US I don’t feel the need to do it again. Would I recommend it to anyone, 100% yes. If this is a trip you would be interested in doing.
Would I recommend Eagleriders to anyone. Yes. Already looking into Yellowstone trip.

I think I’ve said it before on one of your other threads, it this is the trip that I really must do, and within the next couple of years if possible too.
I guess you rode the Mississippi coast the day after staying in New Orleans? About 45 mins up the i10 then pick it up at Waveland and follow it all the way along to Pensacola Florida?
I used to do that trip from time to time when I was living and working there and it is an amazing ride.
Did you manage to stop off at the Stennis NASA site before you rode the coast?

Five of us who served in the Army at the same time did similar in August this year. Hiring HDs (’22 Streetglide in my case) from Eagle Rider (SF)to do a big loop of California (and a bit of Nevada).
After a few days in San Francisco, headed east to Yosemite>Las Vegas> Joshua Tree>Palm Springs>San Diego> LA>Santa Maria>San Jose>Santa Cruz and back to SF over a 2 week period.
Seriously sick of the pricing towards the end. Due to the exchange rate being so crap, everything was so expensive.
and as for the tipping culture over there…….
Great trip but I wouldn’t rush to do it again now that its been done (if that makes sense).

Most years, Eaglerider runs one or two repositioning rides that let you ride coast-to-coast for pretty reasonable money. Next year's starts on March 17th, and gives you 15 days to get from Orlando to LA.
For $1725 (before ~$1000ish of optional insurance), you get a hotel night at each end, and the option of following their leader or going your own way.

I understand using one of these companies in Morocco etc but do you really need one in the USA ?
Surely it's easy to hire a bike and book hotels (genuine question as I haven't done either but would like to do some)
For one-way coast-to-coasts rides, I think Eaglerider is the only game in town. There are cheaper, smaller firms with local or regional operations, like my personal favourite MotoQuest who have bases from Anchorage to Los Angeles.Surely it's easy to hire a bike and book hotels (genuine question as I haven't done either but would like to do some)

We did the i10 a few times but did the coast road from Port Arthur to New Orleans via a ferry. then coast most of the way to Perry. Passing the Mississippi gold cruise which made all the UK car events I've ever been to look like small meets. I guess you rode the Mississippi coast the day after staying in New Orleans? No to the NSAA site.

Looks awesome, and I would love to do something similar one day.
Was reading about the Continental Divide Trail the other day (Through the Rockies from Canadian border down to the Mexican border)
Not a Harley fan though, were there other brands of bike to choose from ?

Looks likea good trip!
Be interested in your thoughts on the LiveWire and what sort of miles you got out of it before needing to stop and charge etc.
Also - anyone take out at Sports Glide? It's what I'm currently considering as my next bike
Livewire was just for a pic. Never road them as you could not do the miles we did in the time we had. Be interested in your thoughts on the LiveWire and what sort of miles you got out of it before needing to stop and charge etc.

In 2018 I road the Street Glide for a week great bike. this time I road the Road glide and prefer it. Just the looks are different

I wanted to rent and go in 2018, but the amount of stuff you just cannot see without local knowledge is truly amazing. Not for everyone and was not for me but after doing in twice now in the US I will be doing it again,Surely it's easy to hire a bike and book hotels (genuine question as I haven't done either but would like to do some)
