Well chuffed, picked up my first Italian

2014 with 20k miles on it but seems well looked after. Hopefully get some miles in before the weather gets nasty.

Thinking tail tidy, pillion seat cover, new levers (ASV) and maybe a carbon hugger.

Just need to shift my cbr600rr now, it's a bit tight in the garage!

Beautiful! In answer to those suggestions, it's yes yes and yes. I bought a 959 a couple of months ago and absolutely love it. It has carbon fibre all over the place so if you want any pictures from any specific angles to show the CF then let me know. I considered ASV levers as well but they don't seem to be available for the 959 (the 899 may be different), tbh the standard levers are pretty good with easy adjustability.

Happy and safe riding!

Nice bike! Indeed looks like they aren't available for the 959 but do appear to be for the 899, nothing wrong with the ones on it aside from the black has worn off.

Happy to be corrected but I believe the 899 runs a cam chain

A lovely looking bike, powerful without being silly and quite light too.
Now you've ridden it, how is it comfort-wise?

Pretty good, didn't feel cramped at all. On the motorway I felt like it could use a double bubble screen or something, quite a lot of wind!

Congratulations, looks fantastic.
When you can grab a few map sensors and store them. There cheap enough and it's a thing on the panigales that they can blow easy. But there simple enough to swap over. In fact hey can also be a thing on the diavels to.
Changed both sets on both my Panigale and diavel.

Do these still ride like the older Ducati's from years ago. I remember running-in a 916 bp (back in the day) about 500-600 miles in total. Anything below around 40 was too hard on the wrists, about 70 was a nice speed, but damn was it soo confident round the bends. It was actually a bit too much for me, and I preferred my 600 I had at the time, just generally an all-round more comfortable place to sit. But no doubting the Duke's ability, just felt I had to be going soo fast to make it comfortable.

Have they 'tamed' the riding position from the old 916 days, or are these 'monsters' sill quite an extreme bike..? (Not been on a twin for years - just generally interested - as these do look stunning these days)..

nice bike OP!

i'd recommend gilles tooling levers over asv. i have the former on my ducati and the latter on my cbr. the gilles are far superior

I didn't know that. I assumed belts. There's a SuperSport in a local dealers which I dismissed as belts.

Such a bike would be wasted on me, a bit all the gear and no idea.
