As title really. Plan to keep commuting over winter but would like heated grips. Anyone bought these and if so how were they/how hard to fit, etc?

They are easy to fit, work really well. The only downside really is the control box looks a bit crap.

Yes they are excellent, ridiculously hot on high and won't flatten your battery if left on.

I bought some about 10 years ago, they are great, still work, but I did manage to flatten the battery by leaving them on!

That could be the 'temporary' way I wired them in.

I installed the latest version last year, which are meant to switch off but on one occasion they didn’t and flattened the battery. I fitted a relay and they’ve been great since then.

This is where my knowledge hits a ceiling. Might need to do a bit of research into where to splice them so they can only be on if the bike is.

Absolutely brilliant I bought some for my last bike about 3 weeks before chopping it in and they are far superior to the genuine honda ones fitted to my current bike.

I wired a relay into the live terminal too so they go off with the ignition as I was nervous about flat batteries.

They're sat in a box in my conservatory somewhere if I can find them tomorrow you're welcome to the for £20 posted if you like as I'm not using them and don't plan on changing bikes soon

No worries, they're a good investment. I can also highly recommend the relay mod I did. Just gives you peace of mind

You just need to wire the relay to an ignition fed live, when you turn on the ignition it pulls the relay to complete the circuit of the real live going from the battery to the grips.

I spliced my relay into number plate light feed at back of bike. Was convenient location to feed / locate relay etc.

My son has them on his CBF125 and thinks they're excellent. We wired the relay so it was switched from a feed that went on/off with the ignition (possibly the number plate light) so there is no risk to the battery. They're really easy to fit.

It is, but for whatever reason it failed once on mine and left me with a flat battery, hence the relay. As previously mentioned, splicing it into the rear light is relatively easy (there are guides online).

Fitted these to a GSXS1000. Easy to fit, work really well and so far have always turned off automatically when left on by mistake so no battery drain problems.

I like the relay switch idea though just to be on the safe side.

You may need some hair spray to remove the glue on your old grips, and depending if theyve been off or not your bar ends may be tricky to remove, I ended up drilling the head of the screw out on my 250.., Oh and make sure you cover any fairings under the bars as the glue may dripple out till its set..

They are really good value for money, and I think I've only used the highest setting twice. Significantly superior to Honda heated grips, and equal with BMW's.

The control boxes do only last a couple of years but they can be bought cheaply. I've never had the battery issue mentioned above but will keep an eye out for it with my next purchase.

They are decent yes. I wasn't too impressed with the quality though, I ended up having to re-solder mine and the bracket they provide is gash I ended up making my own.

Once fitted though, they do a cracking job.

They were brilliant on my old kwak. Not got round to putting on my latest bike. Ducati want £300 for their plug and play versions! ffs

tbh not impressed at corrosion on it so wont be riding through winter on it so not going to bother with heated grips.

I've gone for the extra posh ones with the more complicated controls on them.

54 quid, but for a bike I use all winter hopefully they'll be worth it.
