Hello…
Just bought a DID chain (from a reputable and well known supplier).
It’s supposed to be an x ring chain.
On o ring chains I have had before, I can see the o rings.
But I can’t see any oil rings / seals on the new DID chain.
Does that seem right?
Thanks!
Mike

No they basically look the same - post up a close up

Also the split link should obviously come with the rubber seals too

Thanks.
No o ring on split link.
Looked back at the webpage, and the o ring description is in grey text, which I now take to mean “not applicable” to my chain :-(
Bit misleading I think…

Chain must have been in the £20 range and not £80 which the o ring ones go for.

If you are doing all the fitting yourself I’d be tempted to run with it and see how long it lasts. If it’s not long you should be able to throw another chain on without doing the sprockets.

If you put in some time cleaning and lubing it I reckon it would last nearly as long as an o ring one.

It's a 428 chain and I didn't really know how o-ring price would compare with 520 or bigger...but it did seem not expensive.
I don't do many miles and think it will last a few years... so think I will just use it.
Just a bit disappointed with myself and the supplier for the situation.
