Ideal touring/winter bike as a 2nd bike
Discussion
Been out on my Speed triple recently and getting fed up with the cold wind blast. Looking to get a 2nd bike to ride in a bit more comfort now the colder weeks/months are closing in. Following on from my last post on here about heated clothing it kind of makes sense to me to get a 2nd bike The Speed is great when it's warm outside as a B roader IMO. Just not as an all year rounder for me.
A few that are on my list are GTR1400, FJR1300 and the R1200RT - prefer upright position - as these can be picked up for not a lot of money. Not ruling out anything at the moment but bearing in mind I'm used to triples and inline 4's but having previously rode the Bm'er boxers and liked them they are in the search, albeit older ones. Also looked at 1k Vstroms, Versys (sp) as I'm used to bikes around the 200kg'ish weight. Would also like something 100bhp+ as I sometimes like to have that wow factor with the believe you can't have enough power, but don't have to use it.
It does seem that the bigger tourer bikes can be had for less money than the lighter ones. Quite happy to have one and get used to it once I own it bearing in mind most private sales won't allow a test ride.
I guess what I'm asking is what would make a good 2nd bike for the colder months regardless of size that would keep me slightly warmer than a naked bike that won't break the bank?

If you like the 1050 (I do too) then the Tiger 1050 is a stand out bargain for the performance / £ in the Adventure sector
I find them a bit top heavy at low speed but they make surprisingly rapid progress
Tiger 800 is a triple too and not a bad bike or a Tracer although the 900 might be stretching your budget

Honda Pan European ST1300. The V4 ensures that you keep very toasty....a little too toasty during the summer.
My BMW R1100RT had very good weather protection as well. And it had vents at the front where you could direct hot air from the oil cooler to your hands...was nice with the heated grips.
