.... is how it starts.. And then it just spirals out of control rofl

Weild a single spanner and suddenly the bike is in a million pieces either in the paraffin tank, in the parts polisher or waiting to be cleaned...

So after using the new to me Beta 300 trials bike at an event and not having had time to go over it beforehand, something was clearly amiss once in action. I'm crap but this was on another level.... had to be the bike M'lud....
So cue the minor investigation that became a bit less minor which eventually became a 'fer fecks sake.." full strip down.

Initial investigation showed the rear suspension dog bone bushes were seized, headstock is notchy, swingarm is clicking etc....

So here we go again, a full rebuild, all bushes and bearings, wheels included, deep clean and likely a new top end while were in there. Gearbox and clutch will be overhauled and might even man up and do the big end and mains.....
Suspension is going away for a full rebuild, lots of small parts on order and small parts going through the casings polisher... which actually works very well on bringing minging bolts etc back to a passable condition....She'll never be a minter but she might actually work as intended..

And then convert to a trail bike with some suspension mods and a long range tank as I'm picking up my new 300 4T Beta Evo on Saturday...

Said it before, I'm sure a opioid addiction would be cheaper.....But the therapy is priceless rofl

And found out something interesting... Apparently Lithium or LM grease is not waterproof so can be washed out of bearings very easily. Should be using a waterproof grease and trying not to hammer with the jet washer.

Yesterday, this was a working trials bike...

Casings Tumbler and walnut shell media.. Very impressed on soft ali parts..

Always starts with a little clean up, before long the bike is in bits and the swearing about the lack of previous maintenance starts..

The absolute opposite of me hehe

I start cleaning my bike, polish half the front mudguard (which is chrome), regret starting and go and do something else!
