Half the cylinders, less than half the power, but definitely not half the fun. Bit of a one trick pony but seeing as most of my day trips are circa 100 miles or so, it won’t make much difference. Just need to buy a decent pipe and box for it and a couple other little trinkets and she’ll be good to go

Be interesting to see how you get on with the lack of power, not that a lot of power is needed to have fun, sometimes i think that's where i need to go, less power (MT10) to get the enjoyment factor back again.

Had a 2016 model a few years back and the lack of power makes it more entertaining to ride. They sit quite happily at 60-70 and will quite happily hit a ton, which is plenty on the B roads I mostly ride on. My brain and eyesight don’t process fast enough now for high speeds and this is a bit more licence friendly. It’s just about comfortable enough for 50 miles or so which suits most of my rides nowadays.

Thinking of an MT10 or less power than the MT10 that you might currently possess?

Ignore that, just checked your profile.

I’d probably look at an MT09/Tracer or one of those 890 (I think) KTMs.

I had a MT10 and was looking for a change, I test rode a husky 701 sm, definitely not a bike I would buy, and I didn’t.

Why? I think I’d end up in more trouble than on the mt10, on the husky I ended up riding like an absolute tool for the hours test ride, it was bloody good fun though, and technically a very impressive bike.

The real reason I didn’t buy one is it really was just too much of a one truck pony for me.

That's why i am having issues around deciding what to go for, i need a change to bring the fun element back. The bike is only used for fun anyway. Too many choices, Tenere 700 is one i thought about too.

I had a tenere after the mt10, absolutely loved that bike, something completely different. I part exchanged it for a ktm 1090 adventure though as I wanted something between the t7 and mt10, in hindsight I think I actually enjoyed the t7 more.
