I stumbled across this whilst searching for a Facebook post tonight, these figures show folk (me) are right to be paranoid. Police in Leeds have well and truly lost the grip.

Strip Leeds out of the stats.

When it says 'involving' that's not fresh bike thefts, does that include robberies on bike etc.

Bit meaningless unless that's shown against how many bikes in area or historical trends. Surely Leeds will always have higher figures as the biggest place in the area?

Looks like you've got a gang in Leeds who got into it around July last year, took Christmas off, then came back with increased confidence having had such a success the previous six months.

ETA: If you read the link it states that the figures are for incidents involving the theft of bikes or parts of bikes, so not bike based robberies etc.

IIRC, there were some quite brazen and aggressive thefts from Skelton Lakes services, apparently linked to herberts on nearby estates.

My translation was avoid Leeds...
