I’d agree with Thruxton delivering great racing. Shame they can’t have better spectating on the back fast sections.
That first BSB race was as good as I have ever seen, earlier. You're right about spectating 'round the back of the track. I'd love to sit there as they negotiate Goodwood / Village / Church corners.Turn7 said:
I suspect the speeds around there dictate the stands would be so far away as to be pointless…
There’s been a bike or two jump the hedge round the back for some idea Of momentum…
It's also an operational airfield/airport which presumably affects where another spectator area could go.There’s been a bike or two jump the hedge round the back for some idea Of momentum…
Oddly one of the few UK circuits I have never been to, must remedy that, it is a fabulous old school track, hardly touched for 50 odd years.
Always provides excellent racing in most classes and has sadly fallen away a little from being a premier track, but thankfully still holds big meetings like this.
it too hot to go there this weekend, no cover really.
Yamaha crank ;layout clearly helps them with tyre deg here, they were utterly dominant, but amazing racing all round.

It was a mega round for the Superbikes and some of the best racing I've seen for a while in that class
My 15yr old lad raced in the Junior Supersport class. He won the race on Saturday, and like the d**khead he is, got to the front on the first lap in the Sunday race and promptly folded the front into the complex
We had some tears in the van on the way home
On the JSS bikes, they're full throttle for over a minute per lap and only brake twice, but still have an average race speed of around 100mph
I bet it's mega on a Superbike around there though, and proper big balls stuff

I went in 2019 and found it slightly disappointing as a spectator. Unless you’ve paid to get in the stands you can’t see anything from the club chicane along the start finish straight, so miss all the last corner shenanigans. There’s the long stretch of banking where everyone sits from Allard to Noble which makes it very busy and crowded, yes the bikes are really shifting which is good, but you can’t walk the course. It’s a bit like Snetterton for lack of viewing and flatness! I would much rather go to Donnington, Cadwell or Brands. Saying that the racing was epic this weekend but I think TV was probably the best view

I agree, everybody should watch the final 5 laps of the 1st Superbike race on the Sunday, absolute class, way more entertaining than Moto GP at Silverstone last week.LukeBrown66 said:
It is just to scratch an itch chap, never been there, only Anglesey really is the other track in the UK I have never been to so it needs to be done!
Anglesey is worth it for its location alone! You can walk round the whole track perimeter and get up on a hill where you can see everything.
Brilliant!
