Having a bit of a clear out of my late father In Law's garage and came across this. It's like a time warp in there. All rolled up and like new other than smelling a bit musty biggrin
Can anyone ID the bikes? The era?
Looking to raise a few quid for Mother in Law and whilst this isn't making a fortune it would be nice to be able to accurately say who it is and when it's from.
Thanks!

Look like 1970s era GP bikes but none of the numbers ring a bell with me as anyone well known.

No, I've googled the life out of it and can't find any names. I confess, part of me rather likes it but cant see him indoors taking to me putting it up in the garage biggrin

Leader looks a bit like Roger Marshall but not a lot to go on.

One of those if FIL had still been here he'd laugh and tell us every single bloke on it and which team they rode for.

Thought 41 could be Peter Williams but can't find anything of him racing a 350 (blue plates = 350cc class).

Not his helmet, pretty close though.

I can see the helmet for 41 being close to the Phil Read replicas I can find on google. If it is then I'm guessing its late in his career and this thing is mid 1970s perhaps. Fits with the style of the thing anyway.

A Premier Phil Read replica had 3 stripes and chequers around it. That don't look like it.

Almost in negative colours from his usual white stripe and red sides. The style of the stripe is certainly the same.

You could try Twitter, tagging people like Steve Parrish, Whitham, etc. They have plenty of followers who seem to come up with the goods when trying to identify people in old photos if they don't know themselves.

Looking closely at the picture, I don't think the riders are all from a single race. Look at where they're all looking in the bend. A number of them are heading straight for the gravel on the "you go where you look" basis.

I think it's possibly a made up picture with a series of different bikes from different races.

Thanks all. Lots to research today. It’s personal now haha

I’d be surprised if they weren’t all from the same photo. The skills to photoshop weren’t there in the early 70s and I don’t think they could have made it look as seamless as it does really.

Great idea about Twitter. I shall do that today!
