I have a 2003 CBR600f4i that I have been recomissioning, and I am finally within spitting distance of actually taking the damn thing out (hopefully tomorrow morning before it reaches baking temperatures). I've just been attempting to set the factory suspension settings and discovered that the rebound adjuster on top of the right fork is very stiff to turn compared to the one on the left. Anyone got any ideas why this might be? Forks were serviced only a couple thousand miles ago.
Could I get away with a bit of WD40 and run the adjuster in and out a few times to loosen it that way, or would that be the smooth brain fix and the problem is actually something internal?

I would certainly try some lubrication first and small movements backwards and forwards only to see if it frees off.

WD40 isn't actually a penetrating oil but it will do to start with.

What was the fix? New internals?

I had a k tech piston kit fitted but I think he said it could have just been rebuilt to fix that particular issue.
