I have some ACF50, and even when new it would barely spray. I have the big bottle plus a smaller pump type thing that you pump and spray.

Today I used it and nothing. The pump pressurises but cannot spray it. Any tips? Is the pump nozzle maybe gummed up; but to be honest the ACF50 seems more jelly-like than I remember so I can’t see it ever working to be honest.

Not sure if it’s going off (but how can it?). And yes I had left it in very hot water for some time beforehand. I had to use a paintbrush to use it, but it’s a bit annoying.

Have you adjusted the nozzle on the small spray?

Gave up with acf, there are better (according to youtube tests e.g bennets https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBgF07I7TQM&ab... ) options that are easier to apply e,g,
XCP Rust Blocker CLEAR COAT - High Performance Rust Protection Spray 400ml

Sprays like you would expect and then just wipe the excess off with a cloth.

Yeah but I’ve still got about 1/2 a litre to get through lol! Will last me 20 years.

Didn’t know nozzle is adjustable I will take a look.

I’ve not had any problems. Also, warm it up a bit, it sprays better.

Spraying it is rubbish anyway, apply it using a paint brush...much neater job.

I’m a XCP convert too.

Aerosol application is much more effective than painting it on.

I've used both acf and xcp and put it on with a compressor and spray gun.
By far the best way of doing it as it atomised properly and you can get it into all the inaccessible places.
This is how the professional guys like all year biker do it.

If you look at the online tests you’ll see how much less protection painting on gives compared to spraying on.

Do you mean less protection due to less coverage (i.e. not being able to reach nooks and crannies) or that brushing on gives less protection than spraying even when coverage isn't an issue?

I gave up with the spray bottles, even when the ACF is heated they don't mist properly. I have a microfibre that's soaked in the stuff and just give the bike a wipe over with it. I use a brush to get into the areas my hand won't fit. Appreciate the coverage won't be as good as using a compressor but it's "enough" for me.

When I eventually get myself a compressor I'll use that for sure.

This is what the tests I’ve seen show.

XCP comes out of the aerosol right to the end of the can in my experience.

Do you use the clear coat or the original rust blocker?

I had this problem,I used hot water and decanted it into another spray bottle;still had the same issue.
It has a shelf life and think that it just goes off after time and becomes gloopy and unusable.
I ended up binning a large container of the stuff and just bought a small spray bottle as and when I needed it.

Compressor and spray gun is the best option.
It goes need to be warmed up a bit though.
Sounds like the nozzle is blocked on your spray bottle.

I use the clear coat, aerosol or pump bottle. Aerosol slightly easier to apply but costs a bit more.
