2007 GSX-R 600 K7

I'm looking at a lightly damaged one at the moment. The damage doesn't bother me, but the bike bike is advertised as not running. The net is awash with stories of regulator, stator and battery problems, This particular bike will light up the instrument cluster with the ignition on, but all of the numbers on the digital display come up as 8. I don't know if there's any particular significance to that, but it obviously means I can't verify the mileage.

Anyone have any experience of these and this problem in particular?

That is not a common fault.

You haven’t said what the other damage is but I’d be surprised if they aren’t linked.

Hi, I think the display on the clocks is unusual, but the regulator, battery, blown fuses, ignition switch and stator problem stories are all over the forums.

The bike's sustained what appears to be generally very light and superficial damage to the right hand side plastics, although the slider on that side is absolutely mullered and bent back. However, it's done the job it was designed for and saved the bike from much more damage than it's actually sustained. If it would run, it could be ridden without any apparent repairs needed.
