Any opinions on the 21/22 Tracer 9 GT?
Discussion
Thinking of getting one, mostly positive reviews but handful of negatives. Would be interested on your views.
Has the semi-active suspension, 2-way QS etc which is an upgrade over the non-GT. The looks arent for everyone admittedly but I think its pretty handsome, apart from the one-light thingy. Bit miffed the non-GT doesnt have the same electronics as I'd prefer a topbox than the panniers incl with the GT
For £12.5k anything else I should be considering?
Got a GSXS1000F at the mo - kind of want something upright like the Vstrom thou I had, but fun etc. Considered the V2S but for another £2k not too sure about that.
Got a test ride weds.

Black-K1 its funny you mention the SDGT as its been a bit of a dream to have one.... and theres a 2019 near me in Wigan that looks ok but really concerned about reliability.
Any thoughts?

Anyhow, I hated nearly every second of the Tracer 9 GT test ride. Not for me, triples are horrible IMHO. And the active suspension was not a positive. I've only got a Ktech rear shock on my GSXS and it was a magnitude of betterness

Buy it! Book it in to be updated at a KTM dealer (iirc you can get the latest software for the suspension etc), ditch the exhaust valve and fit an eliminator and enjoy.Any thoughts?

A number of Old Gits have bought them and really rate them. Likewise they've been as reliable and as well put together as any other bike.Any thoughts?

We had a Tracer with us on the Norther Spain trip this year and, while it was a good bike most of the time, when the pace really picked up it was totally outclassed and was left behind by SD1290GTs, K1300S and my H2 SX. In all fairness to the Tracer, it was down over 25% on capacity, but it showed.

I sold my tracer after 6 months. Couldn't get over how much wind noise there was and after trying a few screens I gave up.
The engine was okay if you like tripples but the throttle connection was dead at best.Never quite knew what the throttle would do. Jerky and erratic, felt a disconnect between what your brain was telling your wrist to do, and the output you got from the bike.

Yeah I (just over 6 foot) was literally was getting a headache from the stock screen on a fast a-road. How these "features" end up on the shop floor I have no idea. And yes the throttle was weird, albeit it was the first time I've used FBW (unless my old K1300S had one, can't remember, but that was ace)The engine was okay if you like tripples but the throttle connection was dead at best.Never quite knew what the throttle would do. I understand throttles can be a bit shyte due to Euro84/5 etc but even my pre-flash GSXS1000F was miles better than the tracer, and it was a massive issue in reviews on the suzuki.
Anyhow, looks like I'm getting either a new job (woohoo payrise) or a counter-offer from my current employer so going wait a few weeks to see where I am financially before committing to a new bike
