High temps this week, who's biking?
Discussion
I rode to Liechtenstein and back last week from Andorra and most of the South of France bit i.e. the A9 from Carcasonne to Orange was a steady 35c both ways. Even wearing a BMW Rally suit with every vent open it was hard work with a fair few water stops. Yesterday rode on the N260 to Sort and back with some friends . OK on the mountain bit but coming back through Andorra la Vella at 35c was not nice. I'm either going out high and early i.e back by midday, or not at all. Current air temp in the shade here is 30c.
Might not get here in time for this heatwave, but found these vests to really help in warm weather.

No need to ride during the week as im working from my home office....sat in shorts with a fan on
Tomorrow I will be out for a ride in the morning. I have single layer jeans and a mesh jacket/gloves for this weather. If I had to ride in over 30 degC I also have a cooling vest that I bought in the USA when crossing the desert for a few days in 40 deg heat ...on an air cooled big twin it was horrific at slow speeds. I wished I had hired a Goldwing LOL
If you have to ride all day in hot weather then get one of these vests soak it first thing, wear a mesh jacket on top. Works well keeping the core temp down and only £40

You can get "real" air conditioning to wear on your bike, but its not cheap...maybe worthwhile for a 2 week holiday crossing the Sahara kind of thing

I've got to face a LONG train commute on Monday then back on the bike for the rest of the week.
Quite looking forward to it after being stuck at home this week with the whole house having the plague; although I did make good use of yesterday evening and get it a proper thorough clean and polish for the first time in ages - even touched up the paint chips on the fenders I've been meaning to do since this time last year!

I bought a mesh jacket last Saturday and wore it on Sunday to ride to Sammy Miller’s for Airheads Day.
I rode to Birmingham and back on Thursday for my daughter’s graduation ceremony.
Today I rode to Watlington and back, setting out at 3pm. Stops at traffic lights aren’t fun but the rest of the time I have been fine.
I’ve ridden about 500 miles this week without going on any motorways and had a blast.
