After my Euro trip I’ve had enough of my noisy Arai, and have decided to go for a flip front helmet, tried on the Shoei but couldn’t get on with the fit, the Schuberth was much better, any views on it?

I've had a couple of Schubert full-face helmets, and I wanted a flip-front so I tried the C5 on.

The helmet part fitted fine but I found it really claustrophobic with the front closed.

I then tried the Shoes Neotec 2 which was much roomier around the face.

If you found the Shoei a bit 'spaceman' then the C5 will probably suit you.

I went for the slightly older design (I think) E1 flip front with a peak. Certainly more peaceful in there than my previous HJC and plenty of chin room too.

No complaints here.

Not a C5 but I found I had to size up a size for my C4 Pro. I'm a XXL in a Schuberth redface

Today I tried Howard Leight MAX earplugs with the helmet and its just quiet enough at motorway speeds.

Got a C5 with the coms pack fitted and just done a 3200 mile Euro trip and at one point near Zaragoza it was 43c at that temp with all the vents fully open you had to keep moving but I survived LOL

Over the years I have had a series of flip front lids from BMW & C2 , 3 & 4Pro and one Shoei but the C5 beats them all , the only negative is that with the microphone fitted you can feel it on your chin all the time and the battery for the coms pack can't be charged while its in use so on a long day the battery will run out at 3pm odd thinking but they say that's how its designed !
