Hi Team,

New rider trying to get some half decent used kit

Smidge under 6'2, and about 10stone / 187cm, 70kg.
Chest 38-40in, waist 30-32in.

After some 1 piece leathers, I see alpinestars and ixs do tall kit, but I can't find any pre owned tall kit.
Lots of normal sized kit, but nothing within even a few hundred miles so can't try it on before buying. rolleyes

I've got some rst textile trousers, and rst leather and alpinestars textile jackets in normal sizing, and they all fit fine, so that has me wondering if I'd be OK with normal sizing anyways? Despite the fit guides...

Anyone similar sizing that can confirm? Probably looking at 40-42" sizes.

Thanks!

Possibly not that helpful, but I bought RST leathers based on the textile sizing - they're very close, the leathers are a fraction tighter but the same overall shape.

Whether that applies to the bigger sizes I'm not sure - I'm a 32/40 jacket.

I have a set of black/white/red AM Racing 1 piece leathers with back and body armour going if you want to pm me. I'm 6ft 2 and they were too tight for me (44chest 15stone) so they are probably perfect. Didn't even wear them other than a test ride, so literally as new. Available and bargain price ! Even come with knee sliders (unmarked !) :-)

Revit are longer than the others being a Dutch brand. But you'll just have to order some from SBS and send the ones back that don't fit, bit of a pain but the best method unless you're within driving distance of one of their stores.

I'm 6'4" and about 14 stone so pretty gangly (most of my weight is in my torso - I like beer!) and my alpinestars leathers fit the best of any I have tried. I was pretty set on a Furygan one piece but it was a little short in the leg and also the alpinestars are a much more supple and quality feeling leather. Compared to my RST 2 piece it is quite a bit longer in limb length although a bit tighter around the torso, I do however wear a separate back and chest protector in the A* suit whereas I usually just use the built in back protector on the RST suit.

Not got a good photo of the fit but these show it's not too short in the leg or too baggy in the midriff or arms which is the usual issue for us lanky folk!

A* sounds promising! Was that the "tall" version or the regular fit you went for?

Also been offered lots of really nice RST leathers but all have been originally bought for guys much shorter than myself, like 5'8 so figured they were out. Guess the below knee length doesn't really matter as my race boots will cover, but worried back length too short. Had that issue with wetsuits previously.

Thanks for the input so far.

Indeed, made-to-measure (e.g., AM Leathers, BKS Exmouth, Hideout) is the best option. And the leather quality will be considerably higher than Alpinestars, Dainese, RST, etc.

If anybody is interested drop me a pm. Really top quality kit, shame to have them sat unused. My 32-34waist is long since gone lol.

You want held tall and skinny versions, only available from europe but a size 98 sounds like it would fit you very well.
