Travelling along nicely on the A19 on Saturday when my little MT07 decided to blow a hole in it's case and lock the back wheel at 70...
A great brown trouser moment as I'm fishtailing along the road in pure panic, trying not to come off as I navigate to the side of the road.

After this though is what I can only praise the bike community for, a couple stopped in their van to see if I was ok then not only offered me a lift all the way back to Newcastle but also put my bike in the back of their van. I could not thank them enough for going 2 hours out of their way to help a complete stranger they found at the side of the A19... Mr Laing if you see this again I can only only say your kindness is off the scale.

Now I have a lovely hole in the case (bike was last services a 1000 miles ago, 11K and oil shows full so a little confused). Anyone have a rough idea on complexity and cost for an engine swap in the Newcastle area, I think I will just have to get a used engine from a breaker.

Annoyed with the failure of the motorbike, happy to be in one piece but even happier that the bike community exists!

Nothing to add on fixing the bikes, but bikers are great aren't they! I got a puncture while on my first solo ride with help far away, and no answer from the RAC frown. One person stopped with their van and offered to go home and get their ramps, and take me and the bike home. Then someone else came along having seen my plight and gone home for plugs and a pump to get me going again........
