Hi all

With this heatwave I'm wondering what gloves to buy for summer use.

I've got really good winter gloves, and some Rukka medium temp ones but both tend to disgourge the inner lining when my hands are sweaty in hot weather.

Any recommendation for hot weather hand protection gratefully received. Preferably something with the pad on the index finger that allows touchscreen phone use too.

Cheers

I've got a pair of Knox mesh summer ones, really comfy but with all the protection you would expect

I bought these https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/... five years ago, for the full price.

They've lasted well - though the colour has faded. They're very comfortable indeed.

Sorry, don't know about using them on a phone screen - I've never tried.

Had the original Held Desert gloves for about 7 years now, done many thousands of miles across Spain and USA in >30 degC temps

The search on SBS has a "touchscreen compatible" option on the search - as that's essential for my next pair and I was looking this morning

Fit is a very individual thing, Ive just bought a pair for gloves from J&S ...they had a big selection, so I chose the gloves that I liked the style of , fitted the best within my budget.

Pretty much this. Fit is everything.

I’ve had everything from pretty cheap gloves through to £300 gloves and as long as they fit really well and appear to be reasonably well made then I’ll buy them.

I say appear to be reasonably well made as the Five gloves that I took a punt on at the start of last year have burst their sticking in 4 of the fingers.

As said above, it's all fit. Beyond that, my summer gloves are unlined, so easier to get on and off without them trying to self destruct. They have perforations on the back of the hand & fingers so keep that bit cooler. My personal fit is Alpinestars and so all my gloves are by them with touchscreen compatible fingers.

I use Held Air'n'Dry most of the year, with Gerbing heated gloves when the temp drops below 5C and Rukka Forsair when it's 20C and above.

While fit matters most, I don't ignore the CE rating. Five SF1 gloves are short-cuff yet CE Level 2, albeit stocks seem low currently. OJ Spin are also short, summertime gloves with CE level 2 protection.
