I bought an RSV4 a few weeks ago and the clutch was slipping a bit on the way back from picking it up, adjusted the cable and all seemed good but today on my first proper ride out on it, it’s started slipping again.
It was only noticeable higher up the rev range at first like 9/10k up whereas before I adjusted the cable it was noticeable under acceleration at about 5/6k, I’ve adjusted the cable now as far as it will go and it’s still doing it, was much more noticeable on the motorway later in the day on the way home rolling on the throttle in 6th it would slip a bit at 5/6 k again!.
It’s also biting quite far out and doesn’t feel great.
Has anyone else experienced this?, it has done 14k miles so maybe the previous owner was hard on the clutch and it needs new plates and springs?.

Was hoping that wouldn’t be the case!, fortunately it’s still under warranty from where I bought it from so will be getting in touch with them.

Fingers crossed they look after you. Should do given the very short time but lots would try and fob you off with wear and tear.

Dont be fobbed off with something like it might have incorrect oil etc. Any motorcycle specific oil will not cause clutch slip...if it's slipping, its borked.

Clutch is consumable I would have thought. Won't be a big job to swap in all honesty, if you can lean the bike over a bit you can probably doing it without changing/dropping the oil also.

Well they serviced it before collection so they know it’s had the right oil, they seem to be pretty good to be fair to them, I’ve just got to get it booked in and looked at now.
I did let them know it was slipping within an hour of collecting it so they’re already aware of the issue thankfully.
