Reading the small print of my Post Office travel insurance policy I see I'm not covered for motorbike touring. My breakdown cover is also only UK.

Realise this has been done in the past but what are the current decent options for both? Been suggested Carol Nash travel insurance, anyone have any knowledge?

Ive used this company for travel insurance for many years.

As for breakdown cover, most of the insurance companies seem to offer it now, depending on some criteria such as the age of your bike and time spent in Europe.

You may find you already have it?

Definitely don't already have European breakdown, my current provide are from the more 'budget focused' end of the market! wink

I keep a Nationwide flexi account going for the breakdown cover, it covers my motorhome for Europe wide breakdowns, never considered if it also covers my bike but I’d expect it to.
£13 a month, you get other benefits as well.

That's exactly what mine does. European breakdown cover and travel insurance. It definitely includes bikes so long as it is your method of transport to your destination.

Carol Nash or Bennets both offer it with your insurance, I used to switch between the two fairly regularly. Check the small print if you're on an older bike though, some only cover bikes under 10 years old but aren't particularly forthcoming about telling you this.

I’m with Carol Nash as my 22 year old bike is still covered for breakdown in Europe. I should make sure that’s still the case as I’ve not been there for a few years due to covid. Most companies have a bike age limit as others have said.

Thanks all, the bike is only 5 years old so that one shouldn't be an issue.

I have travel insurance now, so I'm covered, it's just the breakdown on the bike.
