New bike wait times?

Went to Aprilia at the weekend to enquire about a test ride on a RS660,whilst I was there I asked about lead times and was told around two and a half weeks.
Obviously it's going to be down to stock and who has and hasn't got any.
Strange times i'm afraid and all you can do is keep chasing them up.

My local Honda dealer is struggling to get stock in, honda won't give them any bikes to hold as stock and are just fulfilling orders apparently. Its quite a sad sight walking into a nearly empty showroom, they don't have any used stock either and I guess that's because people aren't upgrading.
My son has bought a 125. He looked at Hondas and they said ‘maybe’ 2 months, but could no way guarantee it. We then went and looked at a Kawasaki z125 and the guy just shook his head and said 2023!!
I think ktm and husky were a bit better.
He ended up buying a zontes 125 u1 and the waiting time was around three weeks although they did have the 125 g1 in stock. Looks suspiciously like the Honda :-)

I tried to buy a new Honda last week. 3 local Honda dealers visited...
1st - No idea when it would arrive, probably not until next year...
2nd - Sorry mate, leaving now, go and ask in our Yamaha dealership...
3rd - Honda system is not showing any expected in the next few months; however, if I take your order now, it might, maybe or possibly be here in a few months, but I can't be sure...
Quite hard to spend money these days.
I have now found a used one a few months old at a grand less than new, so I have gone that route instead.

I got lucky with my Trident it seems. I ordered in March, was told a May delivery, and got the call last week to say that it's at the dealership. Just need to pass MOD2 so that I can go and pick it up now!
No where near as bad as the delays for cars though, I had to wait 9 months for a bog standard F-Pace this year.
