Hello everyone. First post on here although I have been a member for a while.

As the summer and good weather🤔 is almost upon us I have been looking at buying a new bike. I currently have an 06 cbr600rr which is a great little bike. However, the litre bike urge is strong and so I have been looking at an Hp4 carbon 2014, a fireblade sp 2016 and possibly suzuki gsxr1000r 2018. Would appreciate people's advice. What would you go for? Do you already have any of the above? Or possibly any others which would be worth considering. Budget is around 15.5k. The Hp4 is at the top of that budget and the others cheaper. Or do I buy an s1000rr or standard fireblade for 10k and save myself money?

They are all great bikes, you'll probably enjoy any of them but they will all feel different, have different characters. You need to ride them to see which one you like the feel of. Like food, lots of lovely food out there, but you won't be too keen on some of it, you'll hate other food and there will be some dishes you will pay a lot for and thoroughly enjoy - same with bikes.

I'd spend the summer test riding a lot of bikes then choose.

Thanks for the reply Steve.

I have test ridden the sp before back in 2017 and really enjoyed it. There is an Hp4 in a bmw dealership which I requested to test ride but as it is an approved used bike they don't allow test rides. I'm assuming other garages will be similar. And the rarety of both bikes makes test riding somewhat difficult.

I'd find it hard to look past a RSV4 with that budget.

I have actually also been considering this purely based on the v4 noise👌. I tried to book a test ride from an aprilia dealer but they don't have an rsv4 demonstrator only a tuono.

For that money you can be on a new Hayabusa (if you like that sort of thing). Just paid £15.4k for mine.

Does it have to be a sportsbike? What about a supernaked?

If yes you'd get a Ducati 1299S and possibly an early/leggy base V4.

Depends what you’re hoping to use it for.
HP4 Carbon all day long if you want an occasional sunny day ride and something to polish.
If it’s a year round ride or track action then anything but the HP4 Carbon.
I must say I’ve tried the new S1000rr and owned a 2018 ZX10r and both were very impressive but incredibly bland.
Personally I’d go for a twin for a bit of character.

I did test ride a ktm superduke r last year and that was brilliant fun but my heart is set on a sportsbike yeah.

It would be used as an occasional sunny day ride. I'm slightly leaning towards the hp4 tbh but the higher price is making me wonder if I can justify paying that much money for occasional sunny day use. Although I do think they are a bit special and would be hoping it'd hold its value reasonably well.
