Hi, does anyone know of any protection bags for hard luggage when stored off the bike, too box, panier etc.
I know the inner bags exist, I was after something like a giant helmet soft bag. The luggage is bloody pricey, more than high end lid, I’d have thought some sort of padded protection bag would be available?

Any ideas? Or is it bin bag time?

I got some large plastic containers for around a tenner each which were just big enough.

Honda did top box and pannier soft covers.
Top box cover was part number 08P34MCW800B
Pannier cover same number ending 800A.
It might be worth checking if these are still available.

I just put them on a shelf in my garage - what am I missing, why do they need bags of any kind ?

If you have a BMW, Wunderlich (translation frickin expensive) do wall brackets for panniers, using the BMW fittings. I have bought a set but not installed them yet. Beautifully made but pricey!

Depends on how tidy n dust free your garage is I guess. Ive had stuff fall on my bikes over the years, I just envision dropping something or something falling off a shelf. I only use the panniers/box a few times a year.

If you have stainless steel boxes on adventure bike probably a non issue, but for those with colour matched painted panniers they are easy to get damaged.

Fair enough mine are on the top shelf as they're rarely used

The only thing that could fall on them is the roof and a padded bag wouldn't help !

I should go for the simple option and put up some new shelves high up but I'm out of usable wall space frown

A cheap gym type holdall / duffle bag? just to keep bits together and then can either be shoved on a shelf or hung from something.
