I've got Covid, bored sick, so a story, I'm retiring to Bali, house bought, and I plan to go exploring Indonesia by bike.
Big bikes don't really exist in Indonesia, and are expensive, Benelli 502 is 11k, Royal Enfield over 9. I've ridden my Vn 900 in Indonesia, and bike doesn't need to be that big, roads are bad
I can buy a Bajaj Domonar 400 made in India, New for under 3k. Latast model has the Ktm 4 valve 390. 6 speed. Bike is also made by Modanas in Malaysia, and I've had two scooters from them, which were great, and sold on when I'd finished.
As per picture, its a nice looking bike, I'm just concerned at the size, 400cc' I'm 85 kilo 70 year old, so a bit of comfort is welcome.
I'll be using hotels, so no big bags, i speak the language so finding accomodation. No issue.
My thoughts are for 3 grand its got to be worth a try. Journeys will be mainly tarmac, mainly country roads , time will not be an issue.

Benelli (Keeway), Baja, Enfield and KTM are all made in India or China. (Not certain about the 390 though)

Out of all I’d go Baja. The boxer is a good reliable bike, go for disc brake, but the one you listed is also reliable, if parts are available on your journey.
Avoid Keeway (cheap crap).

Bongtom, I agree with your thinking, I just don't see why the price difference, the Brnelli 502 is bloody awfull, as heavy as a GS, Modanas used to build re-badged Kawasaki under license. So I assume they build the Ktm motor same eay, The factpry in N Malaysia is state of the art.
My daughter is trying to see a Dominar in Bali today, if she can ride it we will buy it and keep until I move. Bike needs to be in her name anyway.
But basically a brand new 390 ktm clone is 25% of the price of a Royal Enfield
