I've got my new Shark EVO GT at home (mail order from SBS) and have been trying it on to check the fit is right etc. (my first modular helmet)

So I've a question for anyone whos moved from a full face helmet to a modular / flip face helmet.

Did you notice the weight increase, did it bother you to start, do you just get used to it after a while?
Has anyone found the weight too much and gone back to a lighter full face ?

Cheers

Not quite answering your question, but I have a Shoei NXR which has a sticker saying 1350g and it feels quite light even after a few years. When I bought it I tried several flip front helmets in the shop and the additional weight was noticeable. I bought the NXR for other reasons and I don't think the additional weight would have been a problem. Now, adding 170g of GoPro to the front of the helmet is noticeable when I first clip it on but isn't noticeable after a few minutes riding.

Never noticed, to be fair some "regular" helmets are as heavy as some flip up helmets. Unless you go from one extreme to the other I doubt you would notice.

list of helmet weights here: https://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmet-wei...

I would imagine perceived weight depends on riding position and bike. On a sports bike you may notice more as you are lent forward at 30-40 degrees...compared to the upright riding position on adventure bike or tourer.

I've also got an Evo 2 and a GT Air which is a bit lighter, but I only notice the slightly different fit, not the weight difference.

I had a Vemar flip up a while ago, yes I noticed the extra weight, but I also go used to it pretty quickly and then didn't notice at all.
