Modular helmet, getting on and off question ?
Discussion
Just bought a Shark EVO GT. Its my first modular style helmet.
Noticed I can only put the helmet on my head if the the chin bar is retracted to the rear. If the chin bar is locked to the front (like a normal helmet) its too tight to get it over my head.
Is this normal, the seller says it is ?
Cheers

A friend who wears the same helmet said he noticed this with latest version. He previously had a Shark Evo in the same medium size and the new model seems to be a bit more snug than previous version.
I wear the same helmet and haven't noticed, but then 9 times out of 10 I put it on with the chin bar open, then I put my glasses on.

Yes, very normal. The neck roll is much deeper on a flip helmet, because the chin rail can be flipped up to allow your head to slide from the front to back as you put it on. This generally makes them much quieter, too, as there's less airflow/turbulence around the neck.Noticed I can only put the helmet on my head if the the chin bar is retracted to the rear. Agreed.
Would be interested to hear your experience with the Evo - I have a Spartan GT carbon (as I have a round shaped head and oval head helmets like Shoei and Arai just do not work for me). Would you recommend?
Yes, im on my 3rd Evo in 10 years... they updated them a few times and each version has been a nice improvement. I have a Shark shaped head too. The latest GT is great if you need the pinlock etc, otherwise the ES version is just as good and great VFM. Its the helmet I wear the most, very convenient and good quality/fit.
