Ah. I won't bother phoning them up at the moment then; just had Mrs DSs R1 renewal through with a whopping over 50% premium increase to 140 quid which is a bloody joke - and they've stuck it on auto-renew AGAIN . I'm expecting a similar reaming as my R1 is up with them 4 days later.
If it was one isolated thing I could handle it - but everything is rocketing in price, but nobody gave me a 50% wage increase.

I was insured with Bennetts for years and they used to bend over backwards to either match or better the annual cost of my insurance compared to other quotes i recieved, which they always managed to achieve.
However their online quote for my new V4 Tuono was some £750 higher than what bemoto quoted me.
I tried calling them to see if there was anything they could do with their price and they just weren't interested at all and were happy for me to walk away.
ETA:
Actually they didn't just lose me as a 7 years+ customer, my Mrs moved away from them to Bemoto at the same time. So now all 3 bikes are insured with bemoto instead of Bennetts.

I had the same issue with massive wait times with Bikesure.
Trying to change a bike as I was picking a new one up at lunchtime and had two separate goes, both times the wait was about half an hour.
I even had time to write an email of complaint while I was on hold the first time.
If I didn’t already have a policy with them I’d have gone elsewhere.

Fair play…. Bennets did call me back, albeit at 10:20.
AND???????? did you get it cheaper?Pete-mojsh said:
Although not due for renewal until mid-June I did a quick quote on mine, there's £30 between my current insurer, Devitt, and Bennett's. I was wondering whether the discounts through bikesocial would be worth paying the extra.
Not really.I used to use the Bennetts rewards quite often and was a fan of the scheme, i even won a couple of the BSB competitions too.
However even as a non Bennetts customer you can still be a member of of for £20 a year.

It's £60 a year if bought, if it were £20 I would have got one already! I used to use the Bennetts rewards quite often and was a fan of the scheme, i even won a couple of the BSB competitions too.

Well - I've just had the Bennetts phone "experience" as my and Mrs DS's policies were up for renewal - after 39 minutes wait I'd gone from 30 in the queue to 24. I was hoping to speak to them to find out why Mrs DSs R1 policy had gone up 50% to £140 but I gave up.
In my book that's not acceptable - what if you needed them in the event of a claim. So I called Bemoto and the chap there was excellent, got them both sorted and saved a few quid - same underwriter. More to the point I could actually speak to them.
I've been with them for a few years now, but that level of call queue is ridiculous, it's obviously been going on for months now so there's no excuse.

A friend tried to get hold of them yesterday. 64 mins they reckoned the wait time was!
You’ve got to wonder what they’re playing at. Luckily, in the case of our bikes, they’re with a quality underwriter (Axa), so it’s not like they’re going to go the way of MCE, but I’m in the position that premiums are not dissimilar to the cost of filling the car up, so I’d rather pay for quality customer service. If anyone from Bennett’s is reading this - you really need to sort your staff issues out. This is damaging your reputation.
It is weird what is happening with them at the minute.
Like I said earlier jn the thread, I had been with them for years and their customer service was excellent, but it seems like they have taken a right backward step as late.
In just this thread alone how many of its customers has it lost? Its lost 2 in my case.

Myself and Mrs DS you can add to that. It wasn’t the premiums per se - I’m sure they’d have got them down to below what I’ve paid with bemoto, but I’m not prepared to spend half the afternoon on hold.
