I'm looking at getting a proper workbench but with roller drawers. Considering this one but with the seven drawers

https://www.bigdug.co.uk/workshop-workbenches-c348...

or possibly this combo

https://www.bigdug.co.uk/workshop-workbenches-c348...

has anyone bought similar or any recommendations? Slightly concerned it'll be a bit flimsy for the price.

I’ve got this one from them:

https://www.bigdug.co.uk/workshop-workbenches-c348...

Apart from a few missing bits (sent out as soon as I reported it) the only issue I’ve got is that the paint is a bit thick, so I couldn’t hammer the sections together properly.

And the instructions were a bit hit n miss - or I just didn’t read them properly.

But overall, it’s been decent, I’ve got a couple of vices on it and it’s standing up to my abuse.

If you have a van - take a look on FB / Ebay

I have champagne taste and lemonade budget and wouldn't want a BigDoug bench - that said a mate has one in his professional workshop - it does the job

I bought professional stainless steel catering tables / units - £40 to £100 each used

I went with this after refurbing my garage. Solid, lots of storage and easily moveable. £562 on Amazon

I got my workbench, the first delivery came damaged and the second only one box showed up. But the good news is, shortly after I bought it they reduced it by £86 and they will refund the price I paid to this sum.

Just finished making a wee work bit.

Took a while to build, but it was dead easy just time consuming. I thought it was going to be st but I'm really impressed.

Just a shame my wall couldn't accommodate the larger ones.

Why is the font on your mats very slightly different?

Oh man I wish I had that much space, I have to make do with a tiny coal shed to store things and everything has to happen under a tarp-walled shed cool

my workbench is from benchmaster. It's totally open underneath, although I put some bisley drawers under there. I have tool cabinets separate with all my kit in so wanted open space to put things I might put on top, out of the way - for example a pillar drill or grinder

I also wanted to be able to stand and work at the workbench or sit on a chair/stool and fit my legs and knees underneath while doing stuff. It's very very solid, would happily take an engine or something else heavy. Mine has a stainless steel top so I can spill all manner of fluids/grease and still clean up easily

Looks like a neat setup for the smallish space you have for it. When I moved here I made one on a steel frame and recycled some kitchen worktop that we'd taken out of the house to ditch a horrid breakfast bar. Not as nice as the real thing though.

I made my own one. I looked and nearly bought from big dug but I'm happy with what I've ended up with.

I made mine out of a old garden gate and fence posts. Not a pretty set-up but functional. Would love to have the space and clean / tidy set up like yours…

My shelves are made from the old pine bed frame that was left in the house when I moved in, half of it is scattered around the house as supports for floor boards and the likes. I was going to make a wooden one or one like the stainless top one above, but I just can't be arsed anymore. Plus I wanted to move my tools from the house into the garage when I'm done so I needed lots of drawer space to keep bike/mtb/house tools separate.

It's only a modest area for tinkering, if I need something welded or machined out I'll just bring it into the workshop at my work.

Never mind the benches - I don't know how you lot keep your garages so tidy

I'm always throwing stuff back in because it's raining etc you can barely see the floor on mine there's always something better to do than tidy up

One thing I forgot the importance of was a clock in the garage like yours.

I got a rather tacky but cool one.....

Do you have enough paddock stands? Looks very nicely organised.

Got to admit, I’m really rather jealous of all these garages.
