Hi PH

i have a few days off next month and looking to do a road trip to lake district.
i start in London.
anyone recommend where i should stay being a single guy on his own?
not looking for clubbing but just somewhere where i might be able to meet people.

alternatively if anyone else fancies a trip/ joining/ other ideas I'm open to suggestions.

thank you all kind people.

Not sure about where to stay but there are some good threads on here about decent routes to ride once you get there.

Jazoli had some great advice:

I’d probably blast up the M1/A1 and then head west from Durham/Northumberland, or do what I did last year and continue up to Jedburgh, then across and down into Yorks/Cumbria/Lancs. Bloody fantastic roads.

Obvious answer is to book into rooms in a pub or youth hostel (I haven't been in one for years but some used to be great)

I've found Best Biking Roads to be helpful on routes

The youth hostel in Keswick is very close to the town centre, the one in Ambleside is a ten to fifteen minute stroll away

Keswick. Great base for some epic roads but good pub life. Not long until the premier inn opens there but cheap B&B’s plus campsites.
