Key to me is feel- but feel means lack of padding which then means no warmth.

Without wearing huge mats or gloves that I can only use in summer.

Also not overlong fingers. Alot of gloves seem to get longer but not fatter..

Are there any PHer recognised favourites?

What sort of gloves do you want (e.g., waterproof, summer, winter)? And what budget did you have in mind?

If your budget permits, I recommend BMK M2M and Held gloves.

I bought some Held Score KTC recently, superb glove, well made, Gortex, great fit and I can see these lasting a long time, not too padded either so you have some feel.

Prices seem to have gone up, I got mine for £130.

Price looks circa 150 unless there's any preferred sites?

I have rukka virium goretex which are very warm and waterproof but not chunky and give plenty of feel. They do get a bit sweaty in warmer weather though.

I’ve gone right off Held and am currently using Racer and Five, but prefer long and not fat, so can’t really recommend anything for fit. I am quite please with my Five Prime GTX though, aside from a stupidly overlong cuff.

What put you off Held? I’ve found their gloves superb, although my experience of Racer has been excellent, too. I’m curious how Five gloves compare – are they as good as they look?

Multiple pairs is the way to go in my opinion, there isn’t one glove that does it all, well I’ve certainly never found it!

Someone on here recommended these to me - worn for 2 years and they are great IMO

It seems they are on offer currently - I'm tempted to buy a back up pair

I used some Twins for a few winters, which I got on with well, until the liners started to pull out (almost unusable this winter, bought them in 2015 IIRC, so they had a decent run), but then bought some Chikaras in 2020. Managed to avoid really using them in the rain, but then when I did, I got soaked through. Has put me off the rest of their range.

Early days on the Five, but they seem ok for warmth and are waterproof. Knuckle armour is very flexible, so not sure how that will stand up, but they are comfy and great dexterity for a winter glove, IMO.

Edit: also the Fives have a soft pad to wipe the visor, not a squeegee, which is excellent for the smeary, damp filth that coats the entirety of the surface of the UK, and my visor, through the months of darkness.

So today I went to JS Accessories. The 150£ GORETEX ones were too long for my mits.

I loved Alpinestar summer gloves. Oh my, they were soo fitting.

Their winter ones sucked.

But I landed on 4 season D30 Fabric things. I can't recall their name but they were fitted yet cosy in wind.

Very true for all bike gear I think, but doubly so for gloves! I've got 3x pairs and I'm a fair weather softy.

I have some Five gloves that are my in between seasons go to, not as thick as the winters, but warmer than the summer gloves so I don't need the heated grips on. Hoping for some warmer weather so I can get back in the A* ones.

A strap on the Furygan Jet D3O Textile Gloves that I'd bought ripped off whilst putting the gloves on.

Cheap junk that'll be gone back.

I have some Furygan gloves I got last year when I first passed, have you say I’ve never wore them since getting the Held Score and also purchased some Alpinestar summer gloves, Furygan quality isn’t a patch on the Held gloves tbh.
