Looking for feedback, just bought a 690 enduro, it has an enduro front tyre, which makes cornering on the road a bit peculiar, I appreciate that the TKC 80s will not be as effective offroad, but wondered what they were like on tarmac, anybody have experience?

Yep, I have a TKC80 on the front of my Tiger 900.

It's good on and off-road. You do have to be careful cornering in the wet on tarmac, can't lean over too far at speed, but other than that it's been great so far.

Finding its limits...

Yes I have run a set on my 990 adventure before. Good 50/50 tyre but the rear wears fast, especially if you like roosting off-road and pinning it out of bends on road....Similar with Michelin Anakee wilds, despite what some people say.

If you've bought a 690 "enduro" then you might want something a bit more aggressive for off road to handle british mud whilst still being decent enough on road - Mitas E09 rear with a pirelli mt21 front or Mitas E12 rear and E13 front. If its more on road you want then Mitas E07's front and back are decent but dont expect the front to go where you want it offroad if it gets a bit wet!

Agreed.

I have a Mitas E07 on the rear and TKC80 on the front. Seems to be working (and wearing) well.

I had TKC80s on my F800GS. No problems on tarmac for me, although I always took it steady.

Had them on my 1190 in East Africa for a couple of years.
Excellent on gravel/sandy roads but will wear quickly on tarmac with a powerful bike. Rear squares off dramatically and the cornering characteristics get very funky soon after.
Quite a low speed rating as well I seem to remember....
But for anything other than snotty gloopy terrain, pretty good 50/50 tyre for the larger adventure bikes
